MagicISO is a great product, simple yet effective, very handy for certain operations that are not available in other CD/DVD recording suites.
One of the best features I found on it is the Convert option. Imagine this situation:
sometimes your best friend lends you a .NRG image of your favorite CD or DVD, but...you need ISO format because you have to use it on Linux, or as source for other programs, and do not have the Nero installer at hand. What can you do? Ask your friend to record the image again in ISO format? Travel your town looking for a PC with Internet, CD/DVD recorder AND Nero to record the disc?
Now, with MagicISO you can read the disc image and convert it from the NRG format to the standard ISO format!
The other big feature I really liked is the ability to edit the file structure of a given image file. If you get an image file, and want to add/remove some files, you can open the image file with MagicISO, make the changes you want and Presto! You don't need to mount the image and create a new one.
I was not able to found these features in other burners, so it's good to give it a try. |
